In the fall of 2019 I had my horoscope read by a Guatemalan astrologer named Madeleine. We met over Zoom: I didn’t speak Spanish, she didn’t speak English, so she conducted my reading in French. It was a giant leap for me - I was searching to make a meaning of what was happening in my life. The only experience I had with alternative healing was a very basic understanding of astrology and the Costars app. Recently, something made me think about that call. Maybe I was feeling nostalgic about all the change I have gone through since then. A full three and a half years later, I re-read my notes and got a chill down my spine:
You are in in the wrong profession. You have a gift that’s sleeping and you need to develop it. Your vocation is linked to care, curing, and alternative medicine. There are two angels that are looking after you to help you nurture your gift. You will take care of people who suffer from depression and take care of their emotions. “Soigner er guerir tous ce qui respire” which means “to care for and heal everyone who breathes”. You will practice your vocation no matter where you are in the world. You will have a new husband and go to another country, and you will be able to utilize this gift in the new country.
At the time, I was put off by her insistence that I was wasting away my healing gift - and that there was no other option. I hadn’t really experienced any alternative medicine other than a holistic facial. Was she telling me to be a esthetician? A masseuse? I was trying to open a bilingual daycare at the time and I was grinding in management in my industry. I shut my laptop after that call and thought: that was weird and that will never happen to me. Why was she so pushy? I didn’t think too much about it except for the fact that some of her observations about what I had already been through were spot on - but the future didn’t seem too correct.
Almost everything she said, down to the exact timing, happened exactly as she described. Cut to today, spring 2023, a full three and a half years later. I did work on my gifts and and I started working on personal development. I went from single to married, and just moved to Italy with my new husband. I certainly never, ever thought that I would go down that path, but here I am.
I think most people will think - it’s a hoax, it’s impossible, there’s no way any of this is true. But even if it was all fake - can you deny the power of belief? What is wrong with someone believing in me, and giving me hope for a beautiful future to come? Can you deny the power of tiny seeds of hope being planted in your subconscious?
Last weekend I was at Villa Farnese in Rome, a beautiful villa owned by Agostino Chigi, a very wealthy banker and business man living from 1466-1520. He filled his home with lots of commissions by famous Renaissance painters, including the “The Loggia of Galatea” which depicted his own horoscope. When I researched more about this, I learned that astronomy and astrology was studied and used greatly throughout the middle ages, despite the fact that he was Christian.
Maybe you were like me, and you are just dipping your toes into the personal development, healing, and “woo” world. Ask yourself - what is wrong with people believing in you, when you might really need it? If horoscopes have been used for thousands of years, why not try to let something spark a creativity inside of you. Are you putting your energy towards people who believe in you?
I am here to be that person for you. If you’ve been considering working with me, here are the ways you can do so:
