You quickly learn when you describe your must have's and your won't tolerate criteria from abroad that reality sets in here when on the ground. I will never again rent an apartment with a tub. Why? in my third month I lost my balance while reaching for some soap and fell backwards out of the tub and hit the back of my head on the commode. No, never again. Having a terrace or a balance is a must have, AC another and if the unit is furnished is what's provided even comfortable? I'd go for the one with the standing shower and AC.

It's so true! I ended up going for...none of these :) I picked one with a view instead of AC as well. HA.

I used Smart Move Italy's housing referral service to find my apartment in Florence. It took about 6 months to find the place I have now. It's perfect, (except for the tub situation), I have AC, a good firm mattress on the bed, a bathroom and bedroom on the same level, only 18 steps up from the street, and the landlord provided sheets, towels, pots and pans, plates, glasses etc. I arrived with my American cat in tow and my representative kindly provided a litter box and some kitty litter. I can't recommend the Smart Move Italy services enough. It's what got me here and I'm very grateful for that. I do have a small terrace but alas no view. But to be honest, I don't need a view. The magic that is Florence is all around me.

Oh the tile and colors in the first one! I can’t pass up a burgundy wall. I’m team apartment #1!
